A Historic Day For USS Iowa as Mast is Raised

April 24, 2012 is a notable date that’s important in the history of the USS Iowa. The crew placed the battleship’s original mast back late Tuesday morning. Free Tours Of USS IOWA BB-61 Begin December 10th

The scuttlebut has it that FREE USS IOWA BB-61 tours are to begin in December 10th in Richmond California according to Chris Treadway at the contracostatimes. USS Iowa BB-61 Museum will have a special ceremony honoring Pearl Harbor’s anniversary

On December 7, 2011, the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks, there will be a special ceremony honoring Pearl Harbor’s anniversary. At this event, The National Park Service, the Pacific Battleship Center and the Craneway Pavilion will announce official opening dates for the new The Rosie the Riveter/WWI Home Front NHP Visitor Education Center and The USS Iowa BB-61 Museum.
